A child was rescued after accidentally locking a car from the inside on the 27600 block of Newhall Ranch Road on Wednesday afternoon, according to an official with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
The caller said the child could not open the door, but the child was not in distress, according to Deputy Richard Farkas with the station.
Deputies were dispatched to the call at 2:50 p.m. and arrived on the scene at 2:57 p.m., Farkas said.
Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel were dispatched to the emergency medical service call at 2:54 p.m. and arrived five minutes later, according to Saadullah Sheikh, spokesman for the Fire Department.
There were no transports reported, Sheikh said.
Deputies were able to get the child out with the help of Freeway Towing, Farkas said.
There is no additional information at the time of this publication, according to Farkas.
