An official with the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau said Monday a shooting death in Newhall over the weekend is suspected to be a suicide.
Medical examiners identified the person who was found as Leonard Lee, a 64-year-old Valencia man who died in a parking lot from a gunshot wound to the head, according to the office’s website.
Reports from the scene indicated Lee was found Saturday morning near the Mountain View Tire and Auto Service shop, which is located at 23440 Lyons Ave.
Lt. Michael Modica said Monday that, based on the circumstances found at the scene, the death was not treated as a homicide investigation.
