It’s been over a month since the United States government shutdown began, and amid all the uncertainty that comes with the stoppage, Santa Clarita native Hunter Greene, pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds, announced a giveaway on social media to help the baseball community.
In a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), Greene announced he is giving away baseball cleats to those affected by the shutdown in the Southern California region.
“With the government shutdown looming, holidays, various leagues and high school baseball around the corner, I’ve got the baseball community covered in SoCal for free baseball cleats,” Greene wrote in a post Friday morning.
This isn’t the first giveaway the Stevenson Ranch native has hosted in the past year. In January during the wildfires, he and his community service team gave out cleats to those affected.
Those interested in receiving cleats through Green’s giveaway can send a direct message to the community service team via Greene’s official X account at x.com/HunterGreene17.
