A married couple was arrested on suspicion of child endangerment and other charges after a domestic violence call to their home Monday evening, according to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
Shirley Miller, spokeswoman for the SCV Sheriff’s Station, said in an email that deputies were dispatched to the 27100 block of White Sage Court at about 7:30 p.m. after a 43-year-old woman said she’d been assaulted by her 37-year-old husband.
“Upon arrival, through their field investigation, deputies found illegal narcotics and loaded, unsecured firearms present in the home,” according to Miller’s email. “The couple had two small children in the home.”
The husband and wife were both charged with felony child endangerment and booked at the SCV Sheriff’s Station. The man was also charged with felony domestic violence, and narcotics and weapons charges, according to Miller’s email.
The man remains in custody in lieu of $50,000 bail and the woman remains in custody with no bail, as of the publication of this story.
The couple’s minor children were put in the care of a relative and the investigation is ongoing.
