News release
Because of the winter storm that hit Southern California over the weekend, The Wildcat Classic, West Ranch High School’s annual marching band competition that was scheduled for Saturday, had to be cancelled.
The event was set to feature more than 20 marching bands from across Southern California, including bands from five schools in the Santa Clarita Valley.
The event is the music program’s largest fundraiser, and as a result of the cancellation, the program will lose a projected $14,000 from its operating budget that covers everything from uniforms, transportation, coaches, equipment repairs, and the ongoing activities that the music program is involved with, according to a news release from the boosters.
As such, the West Ranch Music Boosters are reaching out to the Santa Clarita Valley community to ask for help to make up for as much of the financial loss as possible by making a tax-deductible donation. More information is available and donations can be made at www.westranchmusic.com/donate-1.
As a form of thanks for the support, donors will receive Wildcat Classic merchandise that the Booster Club had planned to sell at the show:
• $200 donation – One Wildcat hoodie plus one T-shirt plus one patch.
• $150 donation – One Wildcat hoodie plus one patch.
• $100 donation – One Wildcat T-shirt plus one patch.
• $50 donation – One Wildcat patch.
Local pickup will be scheduled for this week.
