A 46-year-old man was detained by Santa Clarita Valley sheriff’s deputies in Valencia on Wednesday night after vandalizing a store at the 24300 block of Magic Mountain Parkway, according to Shirley Miller, spokeswoman for the SCV Sheriff’s Station.
Deputies responded to a call at 8:50 p.m. of a man allegedly throwing items at GameStop’s glass windows. The suspect also reportedly damaged two vehicles in the parking lot, according to Miller. The suspect allegedly jumped on the hood of one of the parked vehicles, while kicking the other and ramming a shopping cart into it.
“The victims estimated the total cost of repairs for their vehicles to be approximately $7,000 ($1,000 for one vehicle and $6,000 for the other vehicle),” Miller wrote in an email to The Signal.
The victims did not know the suspect. The suspect was arrested on suspicion of vandalism and booked at the SCV Sheriff’s Station. The suspect was released on Thursday, with a future court appearance date pending.
