Ventura Harbor Village to host holiday events, boat parade

Ventura Harbor Village is scheduled this weekend to host its 49th Annual Ventura Harbor Parade of Lights & Fireworks: “Let It Glow,” scheduled Friday and Saturday, followed by the family-friendly Santa Paddle and Ventura Harbor Village Winter Wonderland & Holiday Marketplace on Dec. 20, as well as the Light Up the Harbor Chanukah Celebration at Ventura Harbor Village on Dec. 21.  

The 4Harbor Parade of Lights & Fireworks event is scheduled 6:30-8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with festivities starting at 4 p.m. 

“Witness magnificent twinkling boats amid festive décor,” said a news release from Ventura Harbor Village. “The vibrant procession from a distance will light up Ventura Harbor sky with more than two dozen decorated boats per night is a spectacle to behold.” 

Starting at 4 p.m., family fun is on tap with carnival and kids rides, live roaming entertainers and a professional bubble show. 

The Santa Paddle is scheduled 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Dec. 20. Visitors can join him on his holiday journey and ring in the good holiday vibes. Santa leads a scenic one-hour procession from Ventura Harbor Village Bay in front of Ventura Boat Rentals through the marina to the Channel Islands National Park Visitors Center and back. Paddlers (kayak, SUP and pedal) can carry on their equipment or launch at the “C” dock in Ventura Harbor Village, or rent a kayak, stand up paddle board or character pedal boats from Ventura Boat Rentals.  

Everyone is invited to dress in the spirit of the season as elves, reindeer, holiday trees, and of course Santa hats.  

The Ventura Harbor Village Winter Wonderland & Holiday Marketplace is scheduled noon to 4 p.m. Dec. 20, featuring live entertainment, interactive activities and boutique vendors. 

The Light Up the Harbor Chanukah Festival is scheduled 2 p.m. Dec. 21. Included are the grand menorah lighting at Ventura Harbor Village, along with live entertainment, arts and crafts, and dreidel games.
