A man was killed after driving on the wrong side of the road, causing a head-on traffic collision on Anthony Road and Sierra Highway near Agua Dulce on Tuesday evening, according to officials with the California Highway Patrol Newhall-area Office.

Officials with the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner have identified the person killed as Everett Turner, 54, of Canyon Country.

Turner was pronounced dead at the scene after a silver Acura that he was driving in the wrong lane crashed head-on into a Toyota Rav-4, according to the CHP.

Officers received the call of the fatal collision at 6:20 p.m., according to Officer Carlos Burgos-Lopez, public information officer with the CHP.

The driver of the black Toyota Rav-4 was transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital for treatment of major injuries, Burgos-Lopez added.

Officers are still investigating the scene, Burgos-Lopez said Wednesday morning.
