A man was transported after hitting a fire hydrant and power line pole, causing a power outage at the intersection of Coral Way and Seco Canyon Road near Hazel Street on Thursday afternoon, according to officials with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
David Eisenhauer, spokesman for Edison, said about 6,676 customers were affected initially in areas including Saugus and Valencia.
Power had been restored for most customers Thursday afternoon, but 90 customers were still expected to be without power until about 6 p.m., Eisenhauer added.
Deputies were dispatched to the area at 2:05 p.m. and arrived five minutes later, according to Shirley Miller, spokeswoman for the station.

Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel were dispatched at 2:09 p.m. and arrived on the scene at 2:21 p.m., according to Edith Lai with the Fire Department.
The man was transported at 2:25 p.m., Lai said.
Several customers reported to The Signal that their power had been restored within about 30 minutes of the incident.
