Glendale man identified as victim in fatal rollover

Officials with the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner Office have identified the man who was killed in a fatal traffic collision on State Route 14 near Newhall Avenue on Wednesday afternoon that may have been the result of a flat tire. 

Romeo Arshakyan, 61, of Glendale, has been identified as the man who was killed when he was ejected from his vehicle. He was declared dead at the scene upon the arrival of L.A. County Fire Department personnel. 

Initial calls reported a single-vehicle crash involving a white van near the Newhall Avenue offramp from the northbound side of SR-14, Officer Carlos Burgos-Lopez, a spokesman for the CHP Newhall-area Office, said at the scene of the investigation on Wednesday. 

The CHP incident logs stated that units were dispatched at approximately 12:54 p.m. to a single-vehicle crash involving a van that was flipped over on its side and may have been traveling northbound.
