A man was arrested in Lancaster on Saturday afternoon, after he allegedly hit his sibling with his vehicle in Valencia and then fled the scene, according to a Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station official.
Deputies were dispatched to the 25800 block of Tournament Road at 2:41 p.m. in relation to an assault with a deadly weapon call at the Sunrise Spirits & Food Co., said Sgt. Anthony Levin, a spokesman for the SCV Sheriff’s Station.
The informant stated that her brother hit her with a vehicle described as a pickup truck with Oregon plates and a trailer attached to it, Levin confirmed. The informant only sustained minor injuries.
The sister was transported at 3:06 p.m. to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital by Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel, according to Edith Lai with the Fire Department.
The man fled the scene with a second occupant in the vehicle and with the help of the informant’s Apple device they tracked him traveling on the northbound side of State Route 14 toward the Antelope Valley, according to Levin and radio dispatch traffic.
A crime broadcast for the suspected vehicle was administered for the SCV, Palmdale and Lancaster Sheriff’s Station to remain on the lookout.
After locating the vehicle in Lancaster, law enforcement officials performed a traffic stop and took the suspect into custody without further incident, according to Levin.
