Deputies: Castaic murder suspect arrested

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has identified the man suspected of stabbing his father multiple times on the 32700 block of Ridge Top Lane in Castaic on Saturday afternoon. 

Homicide investigators identified the murder suspect as 19-year-old Terrance Crawford.  

Crawford was located in the Los Angeles area, arrested, transported and booked at Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station on suspicion of murder, according to the Nixle. 

The victim was Bruce Whitney, 62, of Castaic, and Crawford’s stepfather, according to the Nixle alert. 

Upon arrival, deputies located a man lying on the floor of the living room suffering from multiple stab wounds to his body, according to the Sheriff’s Department. Deputies rendered first aid until the arrival of personnel from the Los Angeles County Fire Department, according to the Nixle. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene, the Nixle said. 

The investigation remains ongoing, and there is no additional information at this time, the Nixle said.
