A man was killed following a single-vehicle traffic collision on Interstate 5 north of Lake Hughes Road in Castaic on Sunday evening, according to officials with the California Highway Patrol Newhall-area Office.
Officers were dispatched to the scene around 8:20 p.m., according to Officer Carlos Burgos-Lopez with the CHP.
The driver of the vehicle was killed and there is potential that drugs and alcohol were involved, Burgos-Lopez said.
Officers are still investigating the scene, Burgos-Lopez added.
