Multiple big rigs were involved in a traffic collision on Interstate 5 at the State Route 14 interchange truck routes on Tuesday evening, according to an official with the California Highway Patrol Newhall-area Office.
Around 7:40 p.m., a semi-truck lost control and crashed, leaving major debris in traffic lanes, according to Officer Carlos Burgos-Lopez with the CHP.
Burgos-Lopez said a second semi-truck crashed into the first semi-truck’s debris, causing a second traffic collision.
Two more big rigs came to a stop before hitting the semi-trucks, he added.
A fifth big rig was unable to stop and crashed into the fourth semi-truck that inevitably crashed into the third semi, Burgos-Lopez said.
There were no major injuries or transports, he said.
A SigALERT was issued until 1:23 a.m., Burgos-Lopez said.
