After losing to the Saugus Centurions on Tuesday, the Castaic Coyotes bounced back in Foothill League volleyball play with a four-set win, 25-17, 23-25, 25-23, 25-16, over the Golden Valley Grizzlies on Thursday.
The Coyotes (13-8, 2-5) recorded their second league victory of the year after losing their previous four league contests.
After Thursday’s results, the Coyotes remain in sixth place in the Foothill League standings ahead of the Grizzlies, who are in seventh place.
The Grizzlies lost their sixth league match in a row after defeating the Coyotes earlier in March.
The Grizzlies will look to bounce back in their next league game against the Centurions at Saugus High School on Tuesday with the game set to begin at 5:30 p.m.
The Coyotes will look to build upon their momentum on Tuesday at West Ranch High School with the game set to begin at 5:30 p.m.
After Thursday’s games, here are scores from around the Foothill League:
Valencia 3, Hart 0: The Valencia Vikings (17-7, 7-0) have won 13 out of their last 14 games with a win over the Hart Hawks (7-10, 3-4) on Thursday.
With the win, the Vikings hold a 7-0 record in league play and are in first place in the Foothill League standings.
The Vikings will look to keep up their momentum on Tuesday against the Cowboys at Canyon High School with first serve set for 5:30 p.m.
As for Hart, the loss drops the Hawks to 3-4 in league play but they will look to bounce back on Thursday in their next league contest against the Castaic Coyotes with the game scheduled to begin at 5:30 pm.
Saugus 3, Canyon 1: The Saugus Centurions (20-8, 5-2) recorded their 20th win of the season over the Canyon Cowboys (20-9, 4-3) on Thursday.
The Centurions remain in second place in the Foothill League standings with a 5-2 record and will look to win again at home on Tuesday against the visiting Golden Valley Grizzlies.
The loss dropped the Cowboys to 4-3 in league play and will look to bounce back on Tuesday with a home matchup against the Valencia Vikings.
Both games are scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.
