Man arrested on suspicion of felony narcotics charges

A man in 40s was arrested on suspicion of felony narcotics charges after deputies received reports of a man sleeping in his vehicle on the intersection of Bouquet Canyon Road and Plum Canyon Road, according to a social media post from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. 

Deputies arrived and observed what was suspected to be a brick of cocaine and a digital scale in plain view on the passenger floorboard, the post said of the Feb. 24 incident. 

During the investigation, deputies located baggies that are commonly used for narcotics sales and more than $10,000 in cash, the post said. 

The suspected cocaine was later determined to weigh about 954 grams, according to the post. 

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of felony narcotics charges, according to the post. 

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Bureau was unavailable for comment after numerous attempts.
