The California Interscholastic Federation Southern Section has released its all-CIF honors across all divisions for competitive cheer, and seven student-athletes from the Santa Clarita Valley were honored, with Valencia highlighting the list with a Coach of the Year selection.

The following were recognized in their respective divisions:

Division 2A:

  • Madison Moore, senior, West Ranch.
  • Lauren Hertzing, junior, West Ranch.

The Wildcats made history this past season after the team competed in the finals of the National High School Cheerleading Championship in Orlando.

The Wildcats placed fourth in the competition and were crowned as the 2026 United Spirit Association’s Spirit National champions in the crowdleader super category.

Division 4AAA:

  • Yasmine Manzano, senior, Saugus.
  • Emily Phillips, senior Saugus.

The Saugus Centurions earned two selections in the Division 4AAA category after the team had a remarkable season.

The Centurions finished as silver medalists in the small non-tumbling competition in the National High School Cheerleading Championship in Orlando.

The team ended the season as the world champions in the International Cheer Union competition in the small varsity non-tumbling category.

Division 4AA:

  • Kayla Hines, sophomore, Valencia.
  • Delaney Morris, senior, Valencia.
  • Ashlynn Evans, sophomore, Valencia.

Coach of the Year: Hayley Sipe, Valencia.

Hayley Sipe and her Valencia Vikings highlight the list of honorees after the team had a historic season.

After winning the Division 4AA Southern Section championship in January, the Vikings were invited to the State Cheer Invitational and made history by winning a CIF state title for the first time in school history.

In early February, the Vikings competed in the National High School Cheerleading Championship in Orlando for the first time in the program’s history, where they placed sixth.

In the United Spirit Association’s Spirit National championships, the Vikings were crowned as national champions in the varsity show cheer advanced non tumbling medium category.
