At least two people were transported to the hospital following a partial roof collapsing and hitting them with tiles at a restaurant on the 24200 block of west Valencia Boulevard on Thursday afternoon, according to officials with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
The restaurant was Mendocino Farms, Shirley Miller, spokeswoman for the station, confirmed.
The incident was first reported at 2:08 p.m. and Los Angeles County firefighters arrived on the scene at 2:15 p.m., according to Pauline McGee, spokeswoman for the Fire Department.
The call went out as a structure trench rescue and the sprinklers activated, McGee said.
Tiles hit at least four patients, but only two were transported, McGee added. The other two patients refused to be medically transported.
