A man was arrested on suspicion of DUI after Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies observed a potentially impaired driver and tried to initiate a traffic stop near Valle Del Oro and Newhall Avenue on Wednesday evening, according to an official with the station.
A short pursuit ensued and deputies ended up arresting the man on suspicion of DUI, according to Sgt. Juan Muralles with the station.
The driver pulled into the shopping center on Newhall Avenue and Carl Court and was taken into custody. The truck he was driving had damage to the front end.
A deputy was seen pouring out the contents of a beer bottle.
No injuries were reported.
