Officials with the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner have identified the man who was found unresponsive in a vehicle facing sideways in the HOV lane on the southbound State Route 14 north of Via Princessa last week.
Christopher Washington, 55, of Los Angeles, has been identified as the man involved in the fatal incident.
He was later pronounced dead at the hospital, according to Officer Carlos Burgos-Lopez with the California Highway Patrol Newhall-area Office.
Officers were dispatched to the call around 12:30 a.m. and saw an unconscious man in the silver Dodge Neon and began life-saving measures until Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel arrived, according to Burgos-Lopez.
The man was transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, Burgos-Lopez said.
Officers headed to the hospital where they were notified that the man was pronounced dead, Burgos-Lopez added.
There were no drugs or alcohol suspected at the time of the incident and his cause of death has been deferred by the Medical Examiner’s office at the time of this publication.
