A white Hyundai SUV collided with a pole and possibly sheared a fire hydrant on Friday afternoon in Castaic, sending large amounts of water onto the street and prompting a multiagency response.
The traffic collision was initially reported near the intersection of The Old Road and West Hillcrest Parkway at 12:46 p.m., according to Kaitlyn Aldana, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
On arrival, first responders located a white Hyundai SUV with major damage to the front, a downed light pole and a sheared fire hydrant, according to reports from the scene and the California Highway Patrol Incident logs. The CHP Newhall-area Office and the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the crash.
No injuries were reported, according to Aldana, and details on how the crash occurred were not immediately available.
