A 23-year-old Sherman Oaks man was arrested on suspicion of shooting at a vehicle and maliciously discharging a firearm from a vehicle on the southbound Interstate 5 Roxford Street off-ramp on Saturday afternoon, according to California Highway Patrol Newhall-area Office.
Officers received a call around 2:44 p.m. about a car-to-car shooting and the victim described the suspect vehicle as a white Lexus, according to an email statement by Officer Carlos Burgos-Lopez.
Officers arrived on the scene and were able to collect valuable evidence and information regarding the suspect, the statement said.
The suspect had fled the scene in the Lexus prior to the officers’ arrival, and the investigation yielded the arrest of the suspect later that night at 10:52 p.m. on The Old Road just south of Henry Mayo Drive, according to the statement.
He was taken into custody without further incident and was booked into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station on suspicion of shooting at a vehicle and maliciously discharging a firearm from a vehicle, the statement said.
