Hernandez Graduates from Harvey Mudd College
Cameron Hernandez, of Santa Clarita, received a bachelor of science degree from Harvey Mudd College on May 17, with a major in engineering, graduating with distinction. Hernandez attended Canyon High School.
Harvey Mudd College is a liberal arts college specializing in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
The college’s mission is to prepare engineers, scientists and mathematicians to become leaders in their fields and understand the impact of their work on society.
Students learn to problem-solve in a hands-on, collaborative environment; do research alongside outstanding faculty; and develop leadership skills to benefit an increasingly technological world.
Named a top research college by the American Council on Education and the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, the College ranks No. 2 in the country for producing research doctorates per capita in science and engineering.
Located in Claremont, California, Harvey Mudd College is a member of The Claremont Colleges Consortium.
2 local students named to Shenandoah dean’s list
Shenandoah University had 1,019 students earn a spot on the dean’s list for the 2026 spring term, including two from the Santa Clarita Valley.
Dean’s list honorees include:
• Eden Rubsamen, of Canyon Country.
• Carter Sand, of Stevenson Ranch.
To qualify for the dean’s list, students must be enrolled full-time in baccalaureate degree programs and earn a semester GPA of 3.50 or higher.
Dean’s list students who achieve a semester GPA of 3.90 or higher also qualify for the university’s president’s list.
Shenandoah University had 437 students earn a spot on the president’s list for the 2026 spring term.
Both Rubsamen and Sand also qualified for the president’s list.
Shenandoah University was established in 1875, and is headquartered at the top of Virginia, in Winchester, Virginia, with additional educational sites in Clarke and Loudoun counties, and online offerings.
Shenandoah is a private university that blends professional career experiences with wide-ranging education. The university has more than 4,400 students in more than 200 areas of study in six different schools.
