A fire reignited Sunday afternoon at the Main Street debris area from the Aug. 24 fire that destroyed the 24200 block of Railroad Avenue and Main Street businesses including Newhall Refinery, The Main, Care Tucker Style House, Gary’s Auto Collision Center and the former El Trocadero.
Multiple first responders were dispatched to the scene to combat the new flames.
Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies were dispatched to the scene at 4:27 p.m. after receiving multiple calls about rubble from the debris reigniting, according to Sgt. Josh Nemeth with the station.
Deputies saw the flames coming from the debris area and began to close neighboring streets per Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel’s orders, Nemeth said.

Nemeth said seven units were on the scene to assist the firefighters’ efforts.
Keith Navarre, spokesman for the Fire Department, said that firefighters responded at 4:28 p.m. with a first alarm response for a commercial fire. Navarre said that first response was five engines, two trucks, one squad and two battalion chiefs.
Navarre added that there were no injuries reported, and he had no confirmation on how the fire started.
He said the fire is being investigated by the SCV Sheriff’s Station.
The area has been gated up but there’s still squatting going on, according to witnesses, said a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department official on background.
In Canyon Country, another fire sparked in a dumpster at Sierra Highway and Soledad Canyon Road around 2:55 p.m. on Sunday, according to Navarre.
Navarre said the call went out as a structure fire, but one engine was able to handle the fire. There was a first alarm response for the fire as well.
He added that there were reports of tires on fire, but it did not extend to the buildings.
The LASD official said the fire that occurred around 2:55 p.m. was near two warehouses that are vacant. It was deemed to be the result of transient activity.
According to the LASD official, the dumpster fire was not related to a nearby auto body shop that is under the same ownership as Gary’s Auto Collision Center that was involved in the Newhall fire.
