A 32-year-old Newhall man was arrested on suspicion of lewd/lascivious acts with a minor under the age of 14 on the 24000 block of Newhall Avenue on Saturday, according to officials with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Station Special Victims Bureau.
The victim and the suspect were family members, but Sgt. Joseph Mesa, with the Special Victims Bureau, could not specify the relationship due to the ongoing investigation.
The suspect was arrested at his residence, Mesa added.
Mesa said in a phone interview on Tuesday morning that the lewd acts were committed on different occasions from January 2026 to September 2026, before the man was arrested on suspicion of the charge on Sept. 5.
The investigation is ongoing as of the publication of this story and the case is scheduled to be presented to the San Fernando Superior Court on Wednesday morning where the suspect is due to appear, Mesa said.
