A 26-year-old Canyon Country man has been arrested on suspicion of oral copulation with a person under the age of 16 years old after a sexual assault that occurred on May 13, according to officials with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Special Victims Bureau.
The suspect and victim were acquaintances, Sgt. Joseph Mesa with Special Victims said during a phone interview on Monday morning.
Mesa in an email response indicated that there is no ongoing threat to the community.
The incident took place in the 27000 block of Solamint Road in Canyon Country, but Mesa could not confirm if it was the suspect’s home.
During the investigation, evidence was collected and the suspect was arrested on suspicion of oral copulation with a minor under 16 years old on Friday, according to Mesa’s email.
Mesa said that the case will be presented this week to the San Fernando Superior Court.
The suspect is being held in lieu of $200,000 bail, according to the LASD booking logs.
