A small half-acre brush fire, dubbed the “Jasper Fire,” broke out Saturday afternoon on The Old Road, near Highway 14 in the Newhall Pass, according to the Watch Duty app.
Firefighters responded at 5:04 p.m. Forward progress was stopped at 5:22 p.m.
The fire was described as a “vegetation fire in light to medium fuels being kept in check by the freeway, per an engine arriving at scene,” according to the app.
There were no reports of any structures threatened. No injuries were reported.
