The Bouquet Fire is holding at 1,048.5 acres and 40% containment as of Sunday morning, and reports emerged that possible “explosive ordnance” was found at the origin site of the fire, according to the Watch Duty app and reports from the scene.

The fire, which began around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, was first reported on the 34800 block of Bouquet Canyon Road near the northeast side of Santa Clarita in the Angeles National Forest, according to the Watch Duty app.

However, first responders reported knockdown of the fire around 2:22 a.m. on Sunday, the Watch Duty app reported.

ANF and Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel continued to construct and improve fire control lines around the fire with the help of water-dropping helicopters, the Watch Duty app reported.

Bouquet Canyon Road remains closed from Spunky Canyon Road to Vasquez Canyon Road, as of the publication of this story, according to Watch Duty.

ANF has a temporary closure at Rowher Flat Off-Highway Vehicle area and Drinkwater OHV area.

A possible explosive ordnance was located at the origin point of the actively burning Bouquet wildfire in the Angeles National Forest Saturday afternoon. Firefighters found the ordnance at the origin point where the fire began.

Reports describe the explosive ordnance as possibly dynamite or fireworks. It is unknown whether the ordnance caused the fire to ignite.
