News release
The Santa Clarita Valley division of the California Retired Teachers Association recently hosted its fall luncheon. More than 50 people attended to welcome and hear special guest and speaker Susan Dixon.
“Susan worked tirelessly for years to overturn the Social Security penalties affecting California state workers, and state workers in 14 other states benefited by her work,” said a news release from the local chapter of CalRTA. “First, she was the legislative representative for the state CalRTA. She continued her efforts when she became president of the state organization. She made many trips to Washington and visited the office of every representative and senator. She was present when the bill was signed into law. State workers now receive the benefits they paid into over the years.”
The local division meets quarterly and its next luncheon is in December. For information about CalRTA or the upcoming events, contact Mimi Kern at [email protected].
