News release
The show must go on, and local residents have an opportunity to help make sure it does: Over a hundred runners and walkers from the Santa Clarita Valley and beyond are expected to join together at West Creek Park on Saturday, Nov. 7 in support of Dig Deep Theatre in the aftermath of the fire that burned down The Main and took their most recent production with it.
Proceeds from the race will go toward the remount of that show, “You Got Older” by Clare Barron, said a news release from the nonprofit Dig Deep Theatre.
The second annual Dig Deep Dash 5K Run/Walk will be a chip-timed, fun-filled, costume-friendly, rain-or-shine event featuring a fast course along the San Francisquito Creek Trail, said the release. Race-day registration and check-in begins at 7 a.m. and the race is at 8 a.m.
All participants in the Dig Deep Dash 5K will receive “a high quality, sustainably produced, snazzy medal – not to mention the joy of getting out, being active, and supporting arts in the community,” said the release.
Prizes will be given for fastest male/female/non-binary runners, plus one for best costume. Entry is $45, plus processing fees, and entries are available at runsignup.com/Race/CA/Valencia/DigDeepDash5KRunWalk.
The start-finish line will be at West Creek Park, 24247 Village Circle Drive, Valencia.
