Six Flags Magic Mountain temporarily closed the roller coaster, Goliath, on Tuesday after the death of a man at its sister location, Six Flags Over Georgia in Mableton, Georgia.

Hassan Jihad Ibn Kariem, 42, of Georgia, fell out of the ride moving at 70 mph and from 170 to 200 feet, resulting in his death and leaving four injured on Monday.

“Out of an abundance of caution, we have temporarily closed similar attractions across our parks … We are deeply saddened by the guest incident at our park today. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with the guest’s family, friends and loved ones,” according to a statement from Six Flags Entertainment Corp. on Monday.

Six Flags Magic Mountain representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment on Tuesday.

There is no confirmation of when the ride will reopen as of the time of this publication.
