CalArts World Music Festival

The community is invited to “The Wild Beast Courtyard” at CalArts for the return of its World Music Festival after a two-year hiatus. Presented by The Herb Alpert School of Music at CalArts, the 2022 festival features music from Iran; Bali and Java, Indonesia; India; Ghana, Africa; as well as cross-cultural fusion from much of the rest of the world. The open lawn seating is great for a family outing or picnic. All events are free and open to the public. Lineup: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Persian Ensemble and Balinese Music & Dance; 5 p.m. Saturday, Student Indian Ensemble and Tabla Ensemble; 7:30 p.m. Saturday, World Percussion Ensemble North Indian Concert; 5 p.m. Sunday, Javanese Music and Dance Concert; and 7:30 p.m. Sunday, African Ensemble Concert.
