CBS Film Series Presents ‘Keep Quiet’

September 10 @ 2:00 pm

With the approach of Yom Kippur, the day of atonement, when Jews traditionally ask for forgiveness for wrongdoings from God and from fellow human beings, Congregation Beth Shalom’s CBS Film Series presents a film depicting the ultimate request for forgiveness. Csanad Szegedi was a member of a Hungarian radical nationalist party who espoused anti-semitic rhetoric. Then came a revelation that changed his life: He was Jewish. The film follows Szegedi’s journey to confront his family’s past, his wrongdoing, and to embrace his newfound religion. But is his transformation a genuine process of remorse and spiritual awakening, or is he a desperate man with nowhere to turn? Admission $5 per person, includes popcorn and concessions. Raffle tickets ($1) will be on sale for your chance to win a $25 gift card. RSVP to [email protected] or 661-254-2411.
