CBS Film Series: ‘The Glory of Life’
February 23 @ 2:00 pm
The CBS Film Series presents “The Glory of Life.” Franz Kafka is widely regarded as a major figure of 20th-century literature. His works delve into themes of alienation, anxiety, and the absurdity of modern life, often reflecting his personal struggles. His domineering and emotionally abusive father deeply affected Kafka, shaping his self-perception and his writing. In 1923, Kafka meets Dora Diamant on the Baltic Seacoast. He is 20 years her senior and the two fall in love. Because of the power of love, the last year of Kafka’s life becomes his happiest. “The Glory of Life,” based on the novel by Michael Kumpfmüller, tells of the young love of two extraordinary people in a hopeless situation. Admission $5 per person, includes popcorn and concessions. Raffle tickets ($1) will be on sale for a chance to win a $25 gift card. RSVP to [email protected] or 661-254-2411.
