Opening Our Minds and Hearts to Veteran Trauma-Informed Art

The Santa Clarita City Council invites residents to support local veterans at a brand new exhibit, “Opening Our Minds and Hearts to Veteran Trauma-Informed Art,” which runs from Nov. 9 to Feb. 2, with a reception on Nov. 13. This new exhibit will showcase art created by local military veterans made from art workshops conducted by Homes 4 Families. Each workshop is carefully tailored to have inclusive military terms and recognizes the blended family dynamics unique to the military. The artwork is filled with compelling imagery and emotional components that tell the individual stories of these veterans. The anonymity of the works also provides privacy and power to the exhibit as a whole.
