Deputies responded to reports of approximately 100 teenagers at the In-n-Out in Saugus on Friday night causing a disturbance, some even jumping on a car, a Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station official said.
At approximately 10:22 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the 26000 block of Bouquet Canyon Road following calls reporting a group of teenagers causing a disturbance, Deputy Garrett Rifkin told The Signal on Saturday morning.
One caller stated that a possible fight was going to break out, and another reported the teenagers were jumping on top of a car, he said. It’s unknown if the vehicle sustained any damage, he added.
Once deputies arrived at the location, the crowd of teens dispersed, some of them jumping onto the beds of their own trucks and playing loud music, he said according to the report.
The disturbance forced the fast food restaurant to close its main lobby shortly after, he said.
On Aug. 18, officials with the SCV Sheriff’s Station conducted an operation in response to growing concerns from residents and local businesses, according to an Instagram post by the station’s official account.
The operation continued until 2 a.m. in two different locations, one at a restaurant parking lot in Saugus, and another at a local park, according to the post. The locations were not specified.
In the post it said deputies located a large group of juveniles at a parking lot and they “used the opportunity to engage with teens, providing education on appropriate behavior and discussing the potential long-term consequences of actions such as underage drinking, fighting, and other criminal activity,” the post said, with the goal of education and outreach.
Despite that, Rikfin said, it’s an ongoing weekly issue following football games.
No citations or arrests were made during Friday’s incident.
