The city of Santa Clarita said Thursday there was no opening date yet planned for its newest bike park, but city officials said they do expect it to open early in 2026, according to an update from city officials Thursday.

At a groundbreaking in July, city officials said the new park at 21450 Copper Hill Drive in Saugus could open by the end of the year, depending on the weather.

The 380-acre park is expected to combine hundreds of acres of city open space and grading to make bike inclines, ramps and trails for cyclists of all skill levels.

It’s also not too far from the city’s archery range, which is down a 1.4-mile dirt road off of Copper Hill Drive, east of Haskell Canyon Road and before Brookview Terrace.

Visitors to the archery range earlier this week noticed access was temporarily restricted due to work in the area, but city officials said that was likely due to Department of Water and Power work in the area. The L.A. DWP was not immediately available to confirm.

There was no planned closure for the range during park construction, according to Joe Redmond of the city’s Communications Division, who added the Haskell Canyon Bike Park should be opened in “first quarter of 2026.”

“The Haskell Canyon Bike Park project continues to move forward, and staff are making progress toward opening the facility,” he wrote. “We look forward to welcoming the community in the coming months and will share additional information as details are finalized.”
