News release
Family Promise of Santa Clarita Valley recently received a $20,000 grant from Clayton, a homebuilder, to help the local nonprofit support local families in need of housing assistance.
The grant is a portion of the $2 million Clayton is donating to the Family Promise National Network. The funds are a result of the recently announced partnership extension between Family Promise and Clayton.
Called “A Future Begins at Home,” the initiative is focused on supporting families facing homelessness by helping them remain in their homes and quickly regain stability, said a news release from Family Promise SCV.
Since its inception in 2019, the program has helped catalyze over $14 million in additional funding nationwide, resulting in more than 43,000 families being served, the release said.
“This diversion grant will support 20 families, allowing us to create immediate impact by helping families move from crisis to stability through targeted, one-time support,” Family Promise SCV Executive Director Carmen Garcia said in the release.
In addition to Clayton’s financial support, the builder has donated 20 homes to the Family Promise national network since 2019, including one to Family Promise SCV in 2026. These homes are used primarily as transitional housing, allowing families to stay together while receiving case management and support services as they work toward permanent housing, the release said.
