News release

Soroptimist International of Valencia is scheduled to present its 23rd Annual Bras for a Cause on Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Hyatt Regency Valencia. This year’s theme, “Viva La Vida,” celebrates life, strength, resilience and the incredible spirit shown by those impacted by breast cancer.

Bras for a Cause brings together community leaders, businesses, survivors and supporters for an inspirational evening featuring a creative bra runway show, dinner, live and silent auctions and stories of hope and courage, said a news release from the Soroptimists.

Proceeds from this event benefit the Sheila R. Veloz Breast Center, a service of Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, providing vital services for individuals facing breast cancer, the release said.

Funds will also support Soroptimist International of Valencia programs including Live Your Dream, Dream It, Be It and Soroptimists Empowering Women with Breast Cancer, providing education, mentorship and resources to help women and girls thrive.

“Bras for a Cause” is so much more than a fundraiser,” event co-chair Cory Peterson said in the release. “It is also a celebration of hope, survival and community. Every sponsorship and ticket sold, donation and contribution makes a difference in the lives of those affected by breast cancer while creating opportunities for women and girls.”

The event has raised over $850,000 since its inception, directly funding critical breast cancer support services and Soroptimist’s flagship programs: Live Your Dream and Dream It, Be It, which provide education and mentorship to help women and girls achieve economic independence, the release said.

Individual tickets are $160 and multiple sponsorship levels are available. For tickets and more information, visit sivalencia.org  or email [email protected]
