Rep. Mike Garcia, R-Santa Clarita, joined his team of local volunteers in hosting a blood drive Saturday to support of Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital and City of Hope. In Garcia’s Saturday of Service event for the month of May, the congressman nearly 50 volunteers gave blood at his SCV campaign headquarters. “With the pandemic causing a severe nationwide blood shortage in our hospitals and blood banks, it is more important than ever that we support those in need with our donations,” Garcia said in a prepared statement.
