Walking the red carpet this weekend? If so, you’ll want to keep a new Valencia salon in mind.
Santa Clarita residents Sally Van Swearingen, owner of The A List salon, and Janet Barajas, who runs West Hollywood’s Indo Salon, are teaming up to open The A List at Indo Salon on Cinema Drive.
An open house for the new salon will be held 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct.12.
The new salon will offer coloring, cuts, perms, styling and hair extensions, as well as skin care and makeup services.
Both owners have extensive resumes in the beauty industry, and have worked with high-profile clients.
Barajas began her career as an apprentice at Gavert Atelier in Beverly Hills, has worked on “American Idol,” “The Girls Next Door” and was featured on “The Doctors” for hair color makeovers.
Van Swearingen has been featured in Allure magazine, and is the author of “It’s Not Over Yet, Reclaiming Your Real Beauty Power in your 40s, 50s and Beyond,” and is the founder of the Studio Essentials Cosmetics.
She also works for NBC Sports during hockey playoff season as the make-up artist for the NHL Stanley Cup announcers.
Future plans for the salon include offering beauty education as well as creating an empowering space for women with a focus on health and wellness.
“It’s about beauty power,” said Barajas. “We want women to bring out their inner goddess … that’s our purpose.”
The A List at Indo Salon is located at 23460 Cinema Drive, Unit G, Valencia.
