The carousel at the Westfield Valencia Town Center mall has thrilled its last little kid.

A longtime fixture at the mall, the carousel shut for good on Friday, the mall’s general manager confirmed.

“It’s as simple as the lease wasn’t renewed,” general manager Tom Miller told The Signal on Monday. “It was a business decision — just like any other, a decision is made if it’s viable.”

A call to the operator of the carousel was not immediately returned.

Miller said the mall still has two other play areas for children – one indoors, one outdoors, and that both are free.

The carousel had charged $3 per ride.
