The U.S. Postal Service plans to hire between 35,000 to 40,000 seasonal workers nationwide this holiday season.

There are job openings at locations throughout Southern California, with available positions including drivers, letter carriers, mail handlers, and mail processing clerks, according to a news release issued by the service Thursday.

Postal Service temporary and seasonal employees have opportunities for permanent work and a path to becoming career employees. The Postal Service is an equal opportunity employer offering a fast-pace, challenging, and rewarding work environment with competitive compensation packages, job training and opportunities for advancement, the release said.

The online application process is easy by going to usps.com and clicking on “USPS Jobs – Careers” at the bottom left of the home page. (Or go directly to www.usps.com/careers.)

From the Careers page, select “Search Now,” then select “California” as location and hit “Start.” Current job postings with locations and requirements will appear. Job seekers should check back weekly for new job postings.
