A motorist was injured and taken to the hospital Wednesday morning after three trucks – two big rigs and a semi – collided in the Newhall Pass.
The two big rigs sandwiched the semi-truck between them, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The driver of one of the trucks – believed to be the semi – became trapped inside the vehicle, Inspector Joey Marron of the Los Angeles County Fire Department told The Signal Wednesday morning.
The multi-truck crash happened shortly after 7:45 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Highway that connect to Interstate 5, just north of the southbound lanes of I-5.
One CHP officer reported that the driver was unresponsive shortly after the crash occurred.
“Firefighters confirmed one person trapped,” Marron said. “After extricating him from the vehicle they took him to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital.”
