County officials are again closing Bouquet Canyon Road Thursday in anticipation of a storm moving into the area.

Officers with the California Highway Patrol and officials with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station announced the plans of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works on Tuesday.

Bouquet Canyon Road will be closed until the storm passes.

The road will be closed from two miles north of Vasquez Canyon Road to five-and-a-half miles north of Vasquez Canyon Road due to a potential storm in the forecast, according to the CHP.

The road is scheduled to be closed on Thursday and remain closed until the storm passes and the road is safe.

Concerns over road safety – specifically, flooding of the road due to a buildup of silt along it – prompted Public Works officials to close the road for nearly a month in October.

After listening to the concerns of inconvenienced Bouquet Creek residents, the same officials announced on Nov. 21 that they would reopen the road and shut it down only when it rains.
