Santa came down to NorthPark Community Church to pose for pictures and ask children what they wanted for Christmas on Sunday.
Attendees of the annual Cookies with Santa event also got the opportunity to eat treats, work on crafts with their family and listen to Pastor Robert Cavin read a children’s book of Christmas Bible stories.
“I loved (the reading) and the pastor was great,” Kari Altman said as she watched her children listen to the stories. “The kids are really involved.”

Altman’s children both asked Santa Claus for a remote control car to race while a photographer snapped a picture.
“The photos were gorgeous,” said Altman. “They turned out great.”
Karina Bunn’s daughter goes to the church’s preschool and her child was thrilled to hear that Santa would be visiting.

“My daughter was excited to meet Santa,” said Bunn. “She was talking about it all week.”
The annual, free event was put together by a few volunteer mothers from the church.
“We geared the event for the community,” Kristin Sullivan said, one of the moms who coordinated the event.
“We love living here,” said Altman. “It’s such a tight-knit community.”
