SCV Sports Report: Valencia swim sweeps GV

The Valencia High varsity swim team swept Golden Valley at Santa Clarita Aquatic Center on Wednesday.

The boys won 137-28, while the Viking girls won 140-29.

Allison Cho (200-yard individual medley and 100 backstroke) and Christina Taylor (50 freestyle and 100 butterfly) each won two events for Valencia’s girls (2-0 in Foothill League).

Brandon Hwang (200 and 500 free), Joshua Lee (200 IM and 100 breaststroke) and Dylan Parente (50 and 100 free) doubled for the Valencia boys (2-0).

Track & Field

The Saugus girls team defeated Valencia 69-67, while the Valencia boys team won 73-63.

The Cents resume league action after the spring break against Canyon on April 13. The Vikings next face Canyon on the same day.

Eric Hovsepian struck out five over five innings for the Rockets (6-2 overall, 3-0 in the Omega League) on Tuesday night. He also went 3-for-4 at the plate with four RBIs.

Ian Sockett went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Max Cogan went 3-for-3 with four RBIs.
