A motorcyclist was transported to the hospital after a traffic collision Saturday morning.

The crash occurred on north bound Interstate 5 south of Parker Road in Castaic.

According to Peter Nicholson with the Traffic Management Center, multiple incidents were reported around this time and location.

“A motor home might have lost its load and there are a lot of vehicles (parked) on the shoulder,” said Nicholson.

“We’re suspecting that the motorcyclist hit a log in the road which caused her to crash,” Captain Randy Perry with the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.

According to Perry, the patient was transported to Henry Mayo Hospital with a head injury.

“When we approached the downed motorcyclist, she had major helmet damage and all she knew was what her name was,” Perry said.

The fire department had the lane closest to the shoulder blocked while aiding the patient.

The traffic collision was reported at 10:37 a.m.
