Representative Steve Knight’s seat has been marked “on notice” by a Democrat women’s political action committee.

EMILY’s List, which was created in 1985 and boasts over $500 million raised for candidates and over 900 victories, are watching the 25th Congressional district for the 2018 election cycle.

Particularly because of his vote in favor of the American Health Care Act in May and his vocal anti-abortion stance, EMILY’s List President Stephanie Schriock said the PAC will try to get female Democrat in his seat.

“Rep. Steve Knight has failed to protect the people of California he was elected to represent and EMILY’s List and our five million-strong community are aggressively looking to flip his seat,” Schriock said in a statement. “Women voters are furious at his shameful lack of courage and leadership, especially when it comes to protecting the safety and wellbeing of their families.”

The female-only PAC is currently targeting a total of 50 Republicans across the federal government for the election next year.

As of now, neither Katie Hill or Jess Phoenix, both female Democrats who have announced candidacy for Knight’s seat, are endorsed on the EMILY’s List website.

EMILY’s List stands for “Early Money is Like Yeast,” meaning early political fundraising helps attract more donors later.

In addition to fundraising, the PAC recruits candidates and mobilizes voters.
