UPDATE: Woman found dead in car died of natural causes

The woman found dead in a car in Stevenson Ranch Wednesday died of natural causes, according to the county coroner’s office.

Deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station were called to Stevenson Ranch Wednesday evening to investigate the discovery of a woman found dead in the front seat of a parked car.

Alcohol may have been a factor in her death, according to a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. She was found in the car in front of her home,

On Wednesday at 5:30 p.m., the woman was found in the car on Browning Place, across from Steinbeck Avenue, according to Sgt. Brandon Barclay with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“The fire department broke the window to attempt to render aid,” Sgt. Barclay said.  “When they broke the window, they found out that she had been dead for some time.”

No keys were found in the car with the woman.
